My name is Carol Burnham, I am a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. I started my nursing career as a nurse Intern at Munroe Regional Medical Center. I graduated from the college of Central Florida in 2013 with my Associate’s Degree in nursing and became a Registered Nurse on the Women’s Surgical floor. I earned my Bachelor’s in Nursing from South University in 2018. Finally, in 2020 I graduated from South University with a Master’s Degree in Nursing. I have two young sons with my husband, and in my spare time we enjoy spending time outdoors.

I came to Ocala in 1998 from Jacksonville Florida after my time in the Navy was complete. I started out in the medical field as an Emergency Medical Technician Basic (NREMT) in 1993. I have been in nursing since 2000. Here in Ocala, I worked in the Ocala Health System for more than 10 years and for several local providers after. I received my Masters in science Nursing from South University in 2016 with a focus on Family Care. Currently Board-certified Family Nurse Partitioner (FNP-BC). I have one child, who is in high school here in the Ocala. I have an extensive background in Emergency and Cardiovascular medicine. I have established Ocala as my home since 1998, and with immediate and extended family as a collective participate in the community at various local events throughout the year.

I began my career in the medical field in the Windy City of Chicago in 1979 where I was employed at South Shore Hospital for12 years. Afterwards, I accepted a position as the Medical Billing Director of an independent billing service until my move to Ocala in 1997. I began working at Express Care of Ocala in 1999 as the Accounts Receivable Manager during which time I also gained extensive knowledge of the Provider Credentialing process. During this time, I attended the College of Central Florida where I graduated from the Health Information Management program. I have recently been promoted as Assistant Practice Administrator of Express Care of Ocala where I will continue to be a team player and provide Express Care with all the support necessary to continue to be a successful Medical Practice.

Jovennie M. Fray is the Human Resource Manager/Administrative Assistant for Express Care of Ocala. Jovennie has been employed by Express Care of Ocala since 2004 and brings over 20 plus years of administrative experience in Human Resources and Administrative Assistant. She assists in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures; manages and oversees the administration of HR policies, programs, and practices within Express Care of Ocala; she maintains accounts payable, receivables, monthly billing as well as employee pay roll.

Jovennie loves working in the healthcare industry and enjoys teaching, training new employees, assisting in overseeing the day-to-day operations and works hand in hand with our staff to ensure we provide the best healthcare possible. Jovennie has a track record of strong performance in high-volume, high-pressure environments and skillfully manages administrative duties as well as client relations for her colleagues at Express Care of Ocala.

Jovennie is a native Floridian and in her spare time she is active in the community by volunteering her time. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children, traveling, exercising, coaching Track & Field and officiating High School Volleyball, Basketball and Football. Jovennie attended Louisiana State University as a Sociology major and was a member of L.S.U.’s four outdoor and two indoor National Championships in Track & Field as an All-American Heptathlete.

Charles Brooks and his family have called Ocala home since 1986. He is a Florida native that is regularly active within the community and has been involved in public service to the great citizens of Marion County since 1999. He comes from a strong, medically educated family and has over 15 years of experience in medicine. He graduated from Jacksonville University, with Magna Cum Laude distinction, as a Family Nurse Practitioner (Board Certified) with a subspecialty in Emergency Medicine and as a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.

He is an accomplished health care leader and Family/Urgent/Emergent Care provider with vast amounts of procedural and management experience. Previous and current experiences encompass the local and surrounding area to include Ocala Regional Medical Center, Munroe Regional Medical Center, AdventHealth Ocala, TimberRidge Medical Center, and Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. He holds licensures and certifications through the state of Florida, American Nurses Credentialing Center, National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners, and the American Heart Association.

He has received accolades and awards for outstanding community and medical leadership and holds staff privileges at AdventHealth Ocala and TimberRidge Medical Center. He is a previous member, chair, and co-chair of several medical boards at Shands and the University of Florida with emphasis on scope of practice, procedures, Joint Commission, patient satisfaction, management, and Press Ganey. He has also served as the Chief/Lead of Advanced Practice Provider services for Emergency Departments at Munroe Regional Medical Center, AdventHealth Ocala, and TimberRidge.

When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, the great outdoors, hiking, saltwater fish/reef keeping, and astrophotography. He takes immense pride in being able to serve the citizens of Ocala and Marion County and wants his patients to feel like a member of the family. He strives to be on the forefront of primary prevention to not only help circumvent the complexities of physical disease but to also address spiritual and psychosocial elements.

Gordon Johnson APRN, is proud to call Ocala his home since 1979. He has been medically serving the citizens of Marion County since 1993. He has a very diverse background that includes working as a Emt/paramedic/firefighter, emergency room nurse, ICU/critical-care nurse, chief anesthetist, and commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. He attended College of Central Florida initially and continued his education up from there. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Central Florida Orlando. He then completed Graduate schools at both Barry University and the University of Central Florida. He graduated undergraduate and graduate schools as a member of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society.

Tanya Johnson is native to Ocala. Starting her career following in the footsteps of her mother who is a Registered nurse. She graduated with her BSN from The University of Central Florida in Orlando in 2003 and worked as an RN in the ICU at Monroe Regional medical Center before going back for her master’s degree, Graduating from University of South Florida in Tampa in 2013. Tanya is Board Certified in Family Medicine from the ANCC. She has spent the last 8 years proudly serving her community as an Infectious Disease provider. She prides herself on helping patients feel understood by listening and encouraging them to take an active role in their health care needs. “I care for my patents like I want my family to be cared for”.
